Online shopping is what’s in. Because of the uncertainty and risks of going outside, people choose to stay indoors and buy items through the internet. We understand that the crisis has led you to use online platforms to sell your products. One of them is Facebook Marketplace, the business feature for Facebook users.

Why should you use this instead of other online selling platforms? Here are ’some reasons why:

It’s free and easy!

Unlike other online platforms that charge you for every product you sell, Facebook Marketplace is free (FREE) - you get the exact price  you sell. It also has the easiest method of putting up a product; you don’t need to create a separate Facebook account!

To sell an item on Marketplace:

  1. From your News Feed, click Marketplace.
  2. Click + Create New Listing, then click Item for Sale.
  3. Click Add Photos to upload a photo of your item from your computer.
  4. Enter the info about your item. To mark an item as Free, you can enter 0 as the price.
  5. Click Next. If Next is grayed out, make sure you've entered the information that's required.
  6. Click Publish to post your Marketplace listing.

Sell to people close to you

Facebook Marketplace has a feature where buyers can adjust the distance to the products near them. Interested buyers in your community can easily see your products, and since it’s within the area, you can bring it to them on the same day! Some sellers would also have it delivered to their customers’ homes.

Reach target customers FAST!

In Facebook Marketplace, your product can be easily seen by your potential customers. If they type in “electric fan,” all products are listed, so yours won’t be missed. It has an easy and simple interface so the users can easily see your product’s photos, details, and contact information. It also has a Messenger button, so a potential customer can easily contact you and discuss the price, the delivery mode, etc.

Promote your Facebook page here - for free!

Facebook Marketplace can also be where you put your products and let them know that you have a Facebook Page! This establishes your brand and your business to your potential customers. You can link your Facebook Page to your product listings so they can be redirected to it, and therefore more FB likes! Having a Facebook Page also builds trust from your potential customers, and it shows that your business is legitimate and responsive.
