MSMEs, which form 99.6% registered establishments in the country and contribute 62.6% to the labor force, have disproportionately been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Already vulnerable to natural and human-induced hazards, MSMEs must now face challenges of maintaining their financial resources, sustaining their workforce, and managing the production of goods and delivery of services while dealing with pandemic-induced restrictions. Enterprise owners face the challenges of maintaining their financial resources, sustaining their workforce, and managing the production of goods and delivery of services.
“Lakbay SIKAP: Forging Resilience for MSMEs”, is a free launch event that aims to introduce various initiatives geared towards the preparedness and recovery of MSMEs through multi-hazard disruptions. On February 10, 2021 1:00 PM, the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) invites various organizations and MSMEs to witness the launching of various SIKAP partners' programs and jumpstart their road to readiness.
The session will help the participants increase their awareness on MSME opportunities geared towards their resiliency. More specifically, it aims to:
1.) Introduce various MSME tools, resources, and programs for preparedness and recovery
2.) Invite MSME participants to sign-up to programs presented in the launch event
3.) Launch the next run of the KaSIKAP mentorship program
